Item 8.01.    Other Events
 
On April 24, 2012, UMB Financial Corporation (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that the Board of Directors had declared a cash dividend of $0.205 per share payable July 2, 2012 to shareholders of record as of June 8, 2012.

In the same press release, the Company also announced that the Board of Directors has authorized the purchase of up to two million shares of the Company's common stock during the next twelve months. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1
