RetireOne Appoints Insurance Industry Veteran Stéphane Goyer as Sr. Managing Director of Product Strategy

Former SVP, Head of Annuity Product Development at Protective Life Corporation, Goyer brings 30 years of experience in product management and design

RetireOne®, the leading independent platform for fee-based insurance solutions, today announced the appointment of a new Sr. Managing Director of Product Strategy — Stéphane Goyer.

Bringing more than 30 years of experience in the field of insurance product management and design as a senior business manager and actuary, Goyer’s expertise will enable RetireOne to strategically elevate all elements of product design, development, and implementation. Through decades spent as a leader and mentor solving problems by leveraging his effective communication skills and analytical approach, Goyer will help RetireOne strategically align its vision across product and corporate objectives.

“At RetireOne, we’re constantly innovating on product design and insurance solutions to better enable fee-based advisors in helping their clients meet and exceed their retirement goals,“ said David Stone, Co-Founder and CEO, RetireOne. “We’re very pleased to have Stéphane onboard. His expertise in insurance and annuity product management and design will help us in our mission to challenge the status quo within the annuity world. He will undoubtably bring immense value as we grow our team of experts and continue building out products that combat the ongoing retirement crisis.”

Goyer adds, “It’s not every day you are given the opportunity to join a team you have admired from afar for years, but that’s exactly what I am experiencing now as I start in my role as Sr. Managing Director of Product Strategy at RetireOne. With deep gratitude for my time leading and learning at Protective, I look forward with eagerness to embarking on this new endeavor; and to driving a dynamic product strategy alongside our industry-leading team.”

Prior to joining RetireOne, Goyer held multiple senior leadership positions during his 17-year long tenure at Protective Life Corporation (Protective). Most recently, he led their annuity product team as Senior Vice President (SVP), Head of Annuity Product Management. In previous roles at Protective, Goyer has held the titles of SVP, Head of Insurance, Market, and Credit Risk, and VP, Annuity Product Manager. Earlier in his career, he served as the Assistant Vice President of Strategic Business Development at Security Benefit.

A fellow of the Society of Actuaries and member of the American Academy of Actuaries, Goyer graduated from the University of Waterloo with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences with a Minor in Statistics.

Goyer joins RetireOne following the launch of Constance, a new, zero-commission contingent deferred annuity created in partnership with Midland National Life Insurance Company. He hopes to build upon RetireOne’s product offerings and continue the firm’s track record of annuity innovation. For more information about RetireOne’s retirement solutions, visit retireone.com.
