SimplePractice Expands Into the Psychiatry Space with the Launch of ePrescribe

The leading mental health platform expands its services to now serve psychiatrists and other mental health prescribers

SimplePractice, a top-rated practice management platform for more than 200,000 solo and group health and wellness practitioners, has announced the launch of ePrescribe on its platform following its acquisition of certain assets of Luminello, an electronic medical record and practice management platform supporting thousands of solo and small group psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other prescribing medical professionals.

ePrescribe provides psychiatrists and mental health prescribers the ability to prescribe medication, access a patient’s medication history, and order refills to get their patients the medication they need. Following the integration with Luminello, SimplePractice is expanding its platform to better serve mental health professionals and now has one of the largest communities of psychiatrists on a single platform.

“We are thrilled to expand SimplePractice’s offerings to better suit providers in the psychiatric specialty,” said SimplePractice President Jonathan Seltzer. “This is an area of mental health where demand is continuing to grow putting further pressures on independent psychiatrists, and we are proud that SimplePractice can empower them to thrive with an all-in-one solution.”

“As a psychiatrist with nearly 20 years of experience, I know firsthand the struggles the industry and practitioners are facing,” said SimplePractice advisor and Luminello founder, Ken Braslow, MD. “The launch of ePrescribe within SimplePractice will allow us to provide more integrated services that close the gap across the mental health space and place less burden on clinicians so they can focus on their patients’ care.”

With the offering of ePrescribe, SimplePractice significantly expands the number of practitioners on its platform and continues its commitment to empower private practices to thrive by providing a comprehensive solution for mental health providers. SimplePractice has grown its customer base by more than 50% over the previous two years, and these continuous investments will attract more psychiatrists to the platform, further facilitating important connections between prescribers and therapists to best treat patients.

The launch of ePrescribe is a continuation of SimplePractice’s extensive growth during a critical time for the mental health field. Psychiatrists and other mental health prescribers are in high demand, and SimplePractice’s commitment to the psychiatry segment comes at a unique time, as the mental health ecosystem remains fragmented and this launch brings a comprehensive mental health offering to the marketplace.
