"The United States was one of the first countries in the world to recognise an Independent Irish Free State 100 years ago, and sixty years on from the US establishing their diplomatic headquarters in Ballsbridge they are making a substantial investment in Ireland; ensuring an enhanced diplomatic presence here for the next 100 years and beyond."

US Ambassador H.E. Claire Cronin said; "When President Biden visited Ireland last year, he called this a 'partnership for the ages.' Tonight, I can think of no better way to honour our shared history than to look ahead to the next 100 years of partnership. The new embassy will be a physical embodiment of the amazing growth in trade, investment, education, and cultural ties between the United States and Ireland. I want to thank Joe O'Reilly and recognise the professionalism of Castlethorn in working with us over the years to deliver this agreement."

Concluding the speeches, Joe O'Reilly of Castlethorn Chartered Land Group said: "I would like to thank Ambassador Cronin and the US State Department for their diligence and effort in reaching this agreement, together with the effort from all other stakeholders involved in this process, including our partners ADIA. I also want to thank An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar TD for attending this ceremony; which marks the significance of this event. This new embassy will sit beside our premium development Lansdowne Place; not only am I proud to welcome the embassy as our new neighbour, but I also welcome them as residents to the scheme itself. Together, located on Lansdowne Road, they will make history."

The brand-new state-of-the-art embassy building is directly next door to Lansdowne Place, a private residential development that takes the title of Ireland's most exclusive place to live. Priced from €800,000 and available through Savills International, the premier collection of apartments, penthouses and duplex townhouses directly overlook beautifully landscaped gardens, which were once the Trinity College Botanical Gardens.
