On August 10, 2011, Amarin Corporation plc issued a press release announcing that it had reached agreement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on a Special Protocol Assessment for the design of the REDUCE-IT (“Reduction of Cardiovascular Events with EPA - Intervention Trial”) cardiovascular outcomes study of AMR101.
