"Seeing Through a Glass Darkly" released by author Cheryl Jones is available now at Amazon and Lulu. More information is available at https://backtothebasicsbooks.com This easy-to-read book discusses the much-debated question of why bad things happen.

The book is going live August, 2024. It is written to help the person who has asked "why" questions.

Some people question the existence of God since intuitively they understand that the word "God" involves a Being who is all-powerful.

Therefore, looking at the world with all its problems, they question the existence of God.

A world in which both the power to solve problems exists and where problems still exist does not make sense.

"Seeing Through a Glass Darkly" explains this dichotomy in a way that is simple and understandable. It is not necessary to have a church or Biblical background to understand the book. Both Christians and non-Christians alike can understand the concepts in the book.

The seed event for writing "Seeing Through a Glass Darkly" began at a Bible study where people asked questions about why bad things happen. There was a request for some Bible-based information.

The questions were passed to the author and a reply was made. That reply became the starting point for the book.

This small volume is designed for clarity and ease of reading. It is possible to finish the book in one sitting. At the same time, much explanatory ground is covered. Scriptural references are in the book.

A major challenge to completing the project was that the author did not have the technical ability to take the finished manuscript into a published form online.

The author credits artist Abigail Barich as being key in getting the book published.

This is the first book Cheryl Jones has personally authored. She is also the author of "The Tithe", also available at Lulu and Amazon. Plus, she co-created two children's books with artist Abigail Barich: "Let's Plant a Garden" and "Let's Clean Up".

When asked why she wrote the book, Cheryl replied:

"'Why' questions have the potential to turn people toward God or away from God. It is possible to have more clarity on this topic.

Sometimes the kaleidoscope of our backgrounds allows us to see a concept not readily apparent to others without that same background. I felt an obligation to point out a commonly missed point and amplify the topic overall."

In a recent interview, the author made a point of thanking artist Abigail Barich for creating the cover art and helping with the technicalities of getting the book online. Without Abigail Barich's help, the book would still be unpublished.
