The loss dropped the Colts to 3-5-1 on the season. Colts team owner Jim Irsay confirmed the dismissal.

Reich is the second head coach to get fired during the 2022 season. The Carolina Panthers fired Matt Rhule earlier in the year and replaced him with Steve Wilks.
