Siobhan Calderbank, MA, CMP, PMP, CTDP, is a speaker, award-winning author, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion advocate, and Managing Director of Talent at the AlbertaInvestment Management Corporation (AIMCo) and was recently selected as Woman of the Year for 2024 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).
While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor, only one female professional is selected as Woman of the Year. The Woman of the Year Award signifies IAOTP's most outstanding female member who has exceeded excellence in her field, demonstrated professional and personal success, and has been a leader in her community. This woman has impacted people's lives, and for 2024, IAOTP is thrilled to present this award to Siobhan.
Siobhan Calderbank will be named Woman of the Year at the IAOTP's 2023 Annual Award Gala, which will be held in December at the Iconic Plaza Hotel in New York City. Siobhan will also be honored with the prestigious Female Visionary of the Year 2023 Award.

Siobhan Calderbank is an exceptional leader who has dedicated more than two decades of her life's work to leadership, diversity and inclusion, and change management. She has demonstrated dedication and passion in serving diverse clientele, including government groups, large and small businesses in various industries, and female professionals. Ms. Calderbank has extensive coaching experience with executives, business owners, and women professionals. Siobhan has a reputation for being dynamic and imaginative when inspiring her customers to generate effective change while also assisting them in recognizing and managing reactions to those changes.
Ms. Calderbank founded Butterfly Ladies, a mentoring program for continually evolving, changing, and leading women, especially racialized persons. Butterfly Ladies' vision is to empower women to be their best through three simple actions – Learn, Live, Lead. She has spoken internationally at seminars and conferences to share her knowledge and experience with individuals from over 70 countries.
Siobhan believes it is important to give back to the community and is a mentor for the Pinball Clemons Foundation, Avanti Women, Toronto Regional Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC), and the Black Leadership Institute on Social Action for Change (BLISC). She is also a Universal Womens Network National Ambassador for Black Women, the Co-Chair of the Black Employee Resource Group at AIMCo, is a Diversity Champion for the Women’s Executive Network, as well is an IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility) Practitioner for NASA’s Inclusion Panel, and served as a founding member of the DEI Board.org.
Furthermore, Siobhan is an advocate of continuous learning. Siobhan and her 10-year-old daughter created three “Crown” scholarships. Calderbank worked with Toronto Metropolitan University and Royal Roads University to renew the terms of reference so that students from under-represented groups, such as women, racialized people, persons with disabilities or members of the 2SLGBTQI+ community could have greater access to financial assistance. She also loves to learn and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Information Technology Management from Ryerson University. In addition, she holds her Change Management Practitioner (CMP) designation from APMG, her Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute, and her Certified Training & Development Professional (CTDP) designation from the Institute for Performance & Learning. Ms. Calderbank also completed her Master of Arts in Leadership degree from Royal Roads University, focusing on leadership development, organizational change, and generational diversity.
Throughout her illustrious career, Ms. Calderbank has been recognized for her dedication and leadership, receiving numerous awards and accolades. She was awarded Top Female Visionary of the Year 2023 earlier this year. For 2021 she graced the front cover of TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine, she was featured on the famous Reuters Billboard in Times Square NYC, and she was honored at IAOTP's Annual Awards Gala as an Empowered Woman of the Year and as Top Director of the Year in Talent Management from IAOTP. In 2022, Siobhan was recognized as one of the Top 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women by ABC Women. In December 2022, she was featured on the iconic Planet Hollywood Billboard on the Las Vegas Strip, was recognized as one of the Top 50 Fearless Leaders, and she also received the Lifetime Achievement Award at IAOTP's Annual Awards Gala 2022 at the Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas. Ms. Calderbank is the recipient of the 2019 Women of Inspiration Award for Diversity and Inclusiveness from the Universal Womens Network. She was one of the top ten Finalists for the Women Entrepreneur's 2019 Inspirational Female Entrepreneur and named one of the Top 10 Most Influential Businesswomen to follow in 2020. In July 2019, she graced the cover of Women Entrepreneur Magazine, followed by the front cover of Business View magazine in October 2020. She has also been recognized as one of the Top 100 Black Women to Watch in Canada 2020 by Canada International Black Women Excellence.
Looking back, Siobhan credits her success to the mentors she has had along the way and her passion for engaging others in positive and effective leadership change. In the future, she hopes to continue to empower other professionals through her keynotes and mentoring. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, golfing, and movies.
