Sungrow said it is now offering a modular inverter for utility-scale solar PV plants.
The “1+X” Modular Inverter features a 1.1 MW single unit at minimum and may be expanded to 8.8 MW by combining eight units together.
The plug-and-play function, Sungrow said, is intended to reduce maintenance time and allow for implementation without technically skilled professionals.
Sungrow said the modular inverter helps to reduce generation loss as the remaining modules continue to operate after a single module fails. O&M efficiency may increase by 70% as a failed module can be directly replaced via the backup module, the company said.
The inverter is also equipped with Static Var Generator (SVG) function, and an Intelligent IV diagnosis function that enables diagnosis for the power plant with a recognition accuracy of greater than 95%.
The inverter comes with a boil-in DC interface connecting to the energy storage system.
