Tickets for the iconic concert film Rolling Stones – At the Max went on sale today. IMAX, Mercury Studios, and Pathé Live have partnered to bring back the film to theatres worldwide, exclusively in IMAX, for a limited run beginning December 10, 2025.

First released in 1991, the critically acclaimed film is the first and only concert feature shot with IMAX® film cameras. Starring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood, and Bill Wyman, the film has been newly remastered with IMAX’s proprietary Digital Media Remastering (DMR) technology and features a brand-new sound mix—delivering the most immersive and electrifying presentation of this legendary performance to date.

“At the Max was always about bringing fans as close as possible to the energy of our live shows. With IMAX, that experience is bigger, louder, and more immersive than ever—we can’t wait for audiences to feel it all over again.” — The Rolling Stones

Filmed during the band’s 1990 Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle Tour, Rolling Stones – At the Max was shot across five concerts in three European cities using eight IMAX film cameras. The result was the first-ever feature-length IMAX concert film, showcasing the incomparable talents of the Rolling Stones and their stadium-filling power. The film, which has not been in theaters since 2007, has grossed nearly $17 million worldwide.

Packed with career-defining performances of iconic hits including “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Brown Sugar,” “Start Me Up,” and more, the film puts audiences at the heart of the crowd, where every moment is enhanced by IMAX’s unmatched scale and sound.

Upon its original release, the film earned critical raves: Michael Wilmington of the Los Angeles Times hailed it as “the ultimate rock concert film,” Janet Maslin of The New York Times called it “the closest fans can get without being arrested,” and Roger Ebert of The Chicago Sun-Times said it was “like being on stage with the Stones.”

More than three decades later, Rolling Stones – At the Max remains a landmark in both concert cinema and IMAX history—now bigger, louder, and more powerful than ever.

Songs featured in the film include:

  • Continental Drift
  • Start Me Up
  • Sad Sad Sad
  • Tumbling Dice
  • Ruby Tuesday
  • Rock and a Hard Place
  • Honky Tonk Women
  • You Can’t Always Get What You Want
  • Happy
  • Paint It Black
  • 2000 Light Years from Home
  • Sympathy for the Devil
  • Street Fighting Man
  • It’s Only Rock ’n Roll (But I Like It)
  • Brown Sugar
  • (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction

IMAX is distributing the film in theaters worldwide, with Pathé Live sub-distributing across select international territories. IMAX, Mercury Studios and Pathé Live previously collaborated on the highly successful global releases of “Queen Rock Montreal” and “Prince – Sign O’ The Times.”
