On December 19, 2005, Minera Yanacocha, SRL (“Yanacocha”) filed with the Peruvian securities regulatory authority (CONASEV), for its review and approval, a prospectus to register a $200 million bond program in the Peruvian public market. Newmont Mining Corporation holds a 51.35% interest in Yanacocha. The registration would make the bond program available for Yanacocha to make up to $200 million in issuances over a two-year period. Any funds generated from the bond program may be used by Yanacocha for capital expenditures and its general corporate purposes.
