Chances are you’ve attended at least one virtual event on Zoom this year. While online events are nothing new, the sheer number of these events has increased substantially as in-person conferences, trade shows and other events have had to pivot to online experiences. In the process, we’ve lost some of the human touch and excitement we get out of attending these events: meeting new people, making business connections, and (hopefully) giving the speakers our undivided attention. Now, it’s just a sea of faces, endless talking heads – and lots of things to distract us.

The question is: how can your virtual event stand out from the rest and leave a lasting impression?

The answer: Customized Swag Boxes

Customized swag boxes are an opportunity to set the tone for your event and make your attendees feel acknowledged and cared for. And who doesn’t love getting a box of goodies delivered directly to their doorstep!

When creating your swag box, put some thought into the experience you want your attendees to have when they receive the box. Do you want to give them products they can use during the event?  Give them a little pampering? Highlight speakers or sponsors to build anticipation for the event? At Wearable Imaging, we’ve created a variety of boxes that have resembled care packages (especially during COVID), celebratory packages (for product launches) and interactive packages so attendees can participate in a variety of ways during the event.

Here are just a few ideas for swag boxes:

Event Essentials. Send your attendees everything they’ll need to participate in the event. Typical items could include pens, notebooks, mousepads, thumb drives, earbuds, or even a coffee mug or water bottle to keep them hydrated and awake! Click here, watch Watch this video

Happy Hour Party in a Box. For those multi-day events, there usually is some sort of happy hour or networking event where people can get to know each other. You can still do that online with a virtual happy hour, send your guests everything they need to participate: a bottle of wine, a wine glass or two and you’re good to go!

Snack Break. We all get the munchies during a long conference, and that doesn’t go away when you’re on Zoom. Why not send everyone a box of snacks that will get them through the afternoon? Kettle corn, cookies, hard candies or healthy options that travel well will keep your attendees well-fed and alert. You could also turn it into a coffee break with a mug and some flavored coffees or teas.

Self-Care Box. You might want to consider the comfort of your attendees by sending them a box filled with things that will help them relax after a long day online. Imprinted eye mask, bath salts, even fuzzy socks will all fit the bill!

No matter what you choose to include in a swag box for your next virtual event, remember this is an opportunity to really connect on a personal level and increase your brand awareness.
