U.S. Army National Guard veteran Jimmion Clayton selected as 2025 scholarship recipient
TOLEDO, OH / ACCESS Newswire / November 11, 2025 / Charles E. Boyk Law, LLC has named Jimmion Clayton, a U.S. Army National Guard veteran, as the 2025 Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship recipient. Clayton will receive $2,000 as part of the firm's annual initiative supporting U.S. veterans in their educational pursuits.
Clayton joined the Army National Guard at 16 and served as a military police officer. He is a combat-wounded Purple Heart recipient. As a First Sergeant in the North Carolina National Guard's 514th Military Police Company, he was deployed to Afghanistan. He was injured in a suicide bomber attack that killed several fellow soldiers and left him partially paralyzed. After returning home, he worked with veteran social services in North Carolina and is pursuing a master's degree in social work at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Clayton's application detailed his path as a father and veteran. In his essay, Clayton described how furthering his education will strengthen his work with veterans and families.
"Jimmion's application stood out for his drive and focus on helping others," said Charles Boyk, founder of Charles E. Boyk Law Offices. "We started this scholarship to invest in students who step up in their schools and communities. We're proud to support his next steps."
The firm's scholarship honors student veterans and qualifying family members who attend accredited colleges or universities. Applicants are evaluated on academics, community engagement, leadership, and a personal essay outlining goals and impact. Funds may be used for tuition or other school-related expenses.
