After years in pro sports, Heather Houston now focused on making her city a more beautiful place

The pandemic has been full of pivots for nonprofits leader. Heather Houston offers a unique perspective, bringing a pro sports background to her job leading Scenic Houston. "When I looked around at the other women … they were all a lot younger than me or older than me, like their kids were already in college. It was just hard to figure out how to make it all work there. And I think it would be that way with any sports or any entertainment industry because there’s so much you have to do on the weekend work."
