On January 5, 2009 XOMA Ltd. (the “Company”) announced the appointment of Fred Kurland to the position of Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer.  A copy of the Company’s press release dated January 5, 2009 is attached hereto as Exhibit 1 and is incorporated herein by reference.  Mr. Kurland is 58 years old.
