Bridgeport, CT, June 6, 2023— As summer has finally arrived, the deadline for the Veronica M. Sullivan Scholarship is vastly approaching.
The Veronica M. Sullivan Scholarship is offered by Connecticut personal injury attorney Bert McDowell. Mr. McDowell is a firm believer in giving back to the community, and he is most passionate about his scholarship dedicated to his late grandmother.
The scholarship aims to alleviate the financial burden of college for deserving students, particularly mothers aged 25 or older attending college for the first time or returning to college. The $2,000 scholarship recognizes individuals who demonstrate perseverance, sacrifice, determination, and excellence.
Veronica exhibited all of these traits in the name of improving the lives of her family members, and this serves as inspiration for Mr. McDowell.
“My grandmother played such an instrumental role in shaping who I am today. She instilled all of these values in me, and that is why I started this scholarship, as a way to pay it forward,” said Bert McDowell.
The deadline for this scholarship is July 15. Applicants must submit an essay response of no greater than 2000 words to the prompt: Explain the difficulties you have experienced in raising your children, and how you believe obtaining your college degree will help you and your children’s future.
