Mending Kids International Hosts In-person Fundraiser in support of providing critical surgical care for sick children in the US and around the world
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. - March 19, 2022 - PRLog -- To celebrate 17 years of providing critical surgical care to children in the US and abroad, Mending Kids is hosting its Imagine – The Beat Goes On – Gala on Saturday, April 2 from 5:30 -10 p.m. PDT. The fundraising event will be held at the Malibu Jewish Center & Synagogue. In addition to the gala, an online auction will open on March 31 and close on April 2, during the event. The gala will be hosted by Grammy Award-winner, and actress Tia Carrere, who will be featured in Amblin Partners' upcoming family comedy, Easter Sunday. Participants are invited to a night of fine dining, great company, lively auctions, special guests and entertainment. The event will feature a variety of guests, and an appearance from a past cardiac patient, Dana Ramon, who was given zero chance of survival and is now a senior in high school awaiting college placement. Attendees will receive special Mending Kids gear and gifts from John Paul Mitchell Systems, Bü Sunscreen, Heilo Skincare and Central California Wines.
Recognized for their outstanding achievements, the 2022 honorees and recipients of the Mend, Love and Hope awards are Dr. Evan Zahn, Mending Kids long-time mission hero, board member, Director of the Guerin Family Congenital Heart Program at the Smidt Heart Institute - Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; and Dr. Salvatore Agati, Chief of Congenital Heart Surgery at the Mediterranean Congenital Heart Center - Bambino Gesù (the Vatican pediatric hospital in Taormina, Italy), and The La Cañada Junior Women's Club, for their dedicated efforts and advocacy, in support of Mending Kids' Hometown Missions.
Since 2005, Mending Kids has deployed over 141 missions around the world helping almost 4700 children from 68 countries; including the United States, as well as mentoring and empowering local medical professionals, elevating their standards of care and leading them on a path to self-sustainment.

Contributions will help the nonprofit in continuing to provide funding for its core life-saving programs: Hometown Mission, Mend US, Overseas Surgical Mission, and Individual Surgical Care, a program where volunteer surgical teams correct acute conditions such as congenital heart, colorectal malformations, plastic and burns, orthopedic abnormalities, and severe scoliosis.
