Northwell Health Physician Partners opens practice in Edgewater, N.J.

In a first for the health system, Northwell Health today announced the opening of a multispecialty physician practice in New Jersey. Northwell Health Physician Partners (NHPP) has begun offering primary care, specialty services and a focus on the full array of liver diseases in Edgewater, N.J.

The services include hepatology and liver transplant specialists through the Northwell Transplant Institute in Manhasset, N.Y. The office, located at 725 River Road, Suite 208, in Edgewater, N.J., will enhance access to a growing community of New Jersey patients being treated at Northwell’s facilities, particularly those seeking pre- and post-transplant services.

Northwell’s Edgewater location also marks a milestone for New York State’s largest the health system. The NHPP practice will officially represent Northwell’s expansion into New Jersey. NHPP currently operates 780 locations across Long Island, NYC, Westchester and now New Jersey.

North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset recently completed its 150th liver transplant since the program’s inception in 2019. About 5 percent of all patients at North Shore travel more than 100 miles to seek care from the CMS 5-Star hospital, which US News & World Report recently named to its 2023 Honor Roll (top 22 nationally). Chronic liver disease is the ninth leading cause of death, claiming the lives of more than 56,000 adults in 2021 alone, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
