East Harlem’s vibrant art scene welcomes a new voice with the opening of Melted Light: Studies in Pigment and Wax, a solo exhibition of recent encaustic paintings by Harlem-based artist Reuben Sinha.
This exhibition marks the second show at OneTaste Gallery, located at 2277 3rd Ave.
Born in India and raised in Harlem from the age of eight, Sinha brings a deeply personal lens to his work.
His encaustic paintings are rich with texture, pigment, and light – each piece a layered exploration of memory, identity, and cultural transition.
Working exclusively in the encaustic medium, Sinha works with wax to create layers that reflect his own richly layered experience of his life, culture, current events, and the human experience.

Sinha draws inspiration from the emotional terrain of those he meets, the stories they carry, and the shifting tides of contemporary culture.
Visitors to the exhibition may find themselves reflected in the colors, layers, and light-play of his work.
