Item 8.01 Other Events
On February 15, 2011, a jury in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas awarded Alexsam, Inc. $9,065,476 in damages from IDT Corporation (the “Registrant”) in an action alleging infringement of two patents related to the activation of phone and gift cards (incorporating bank identification numbers approved by the American Banking Association for use in a banking network) over a point-of-sale terminal. The Registrant will carefully evaluate its legal options going forward and will take such actions which it deems advisable.
