Omnigarde achieved a top-5 ranking among the US-submitted companies and achieved a top-26 ranking among all worldwide submitted companies
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. - June 26, 2023 - PRLog -- Omnigarde, LLC, a US biometrics company, is glad to announce its 1:1 test results in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Face Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT)*. On May 10, 2023, Omnigarde submitted its AI-based face recognition software Omnigarde-003 for the FRVT test. Omnigarde-003 achieved a significant improvement over Omnigarde's previous submissions, reducing the error rate by 16% compared to Omnigarde-002 and by 90% compared to its initial submission. Among the companies who submitted software from the United States, Omnigarde-003 achieved a top-5 accuracy ranking and, among all worldwide submitted companies, Omnigarde-003 achieved a top-26 accuracy ranking based on the average accuracy of the seven tested datasets. In terms of memory, feature vector size, feature extraction time, and matching time, Omnigarde-003 ranked 2nd, 4th, 2nd, and 12th, respectively, among the top-26 most accurate software. The competition in the FRVT is intense, with face recognition companies actively participating and some companies making more than 10 submissions. As of June 16, 2023, thousands of software submissions from 324 companies have participated in the test and 511 submission results are kept on the NIST website in the FRVT 1:1 performance summary table. "Omnigarde is proud of its face recognition 1:1 software's continuous improvement and its top-tier performance among face recognition companies," said Omnigarde Founder/CEO Dr. Peter Lo.
Omnigarde LLC is a startup based in Southern California, with a strong focus on becoming a leader in biometric technologies through artificial intelligence (AI). The company was formed by a group of experts. Since its establishment on March 22, 2021, Omnigarde has made significant strides in developing cutting-edge biometric technologies, particularly in the areas of face, fingerprint, and voice recognition. These technologies have achieved top-tier performance in renowned benchmarks such as the NIST ongoing FRVT 1:1, MINEX (Minutiae Interoperability Exchange) III, and PFT (Proprietary Fingerprint Template) III benchmarks. Omnigarde's ultimate objective is to become a leading biometric core technologies provider. The company's vision is to enhance people's quality of life, to be easier and more secure.
*The FRVT 1:1 test compares a face image with a pre-enrolled face image to determine if they belong to the same subject. The test measures the false non-match rate (FNMR), the memory size, the feature vector size, the feature extraction time, and the matching time of each tested software. It's an ongoing test that allows a company to resubmit its improved software every four months and a maximum of two test results are kept in the performance summary table.
