Brill & Rinaldi, The Law Firm, Reaches Settlement in Traumatic Brain Injury Case Following Construction Site Accident

Pablo Rubio Ortiz Crane Accident 1

Miami, Florida – According to court records, on March 6, 2017, Pablo Rubio Ortiz suffered a life-altering traumatic brain injury while working as a carpenter’s assistant on a new home development construction site in Miami-Dade County. Strong winds blew down a partially constructed concrete block wall, which collapsed onto Mr. Ortiz’s head. According to the lawsuit, the wall, which should have been properly braced, was not. The lawsuit also claimed a designated safe area should have been marked around the structure, but was not, and no warning was provided about the dangers posed by the high winds that day.

Brill & Rinaldi, The Law Firm, worked zealously for Mr. Pablo Rubio Ortiz in pursuit of compensation that he deserved after enduring severe injuries, ongoing pain and suffering, economic losses, and the loss of support and services to his wife and son. Court records indicate that, after more than seven years of litigation, the firm filed a Notice of Settlement on July 29, 2024, stating that they successfully reached a settlement with the last of the defendants.

“Construction injury cases are notoriously complex, often involving challenges such as workers’ compensation immunity,” said David Brill, managing partner of Brill & Rinaldi, The Law Firm. “I am immensely proud to say that we were tireless and imaginative in our pursuit of justice and accountability for Mr. Rubio Ortiz and his family. I am immensely proud to say that we were tireless and imaginative in our pursuit of justice and accountability for Mr. Rubio Ortiz and his family. We lived up to our firm’s mantra: For People.
