New Associate Degree Programs Offered at IntelliTec College Albuquerque

IntelliTec College in Albuquerque, New Mexico is now offering two new Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) Degree programs: the new Automotive Technician AOS Degree program, achievable in 19.5 months, and the new Healthcare Administration: Medical Assisting AOS Degree program, achievable in 18 months.

The new Associate of Occupational Studies Degree programs were developed to add fundamental business skills to the technical education students receive through IntelliTec’s comprehensive career training programs. Similar to IntelliTec’s existing 15-month Automotive Technician and 12-month Medical Assistant certificate programs, the new Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) Degree programs are designed to prepare students with the necessary skills and knowledge for entry level careers in the field. The AOS Degree programs add an additional 24 weeks of General Education courses, including Introduction to Business, Business Communications, and Critical Thinking. All General Education courses may be completed 100% online.

Students interested in a career in Automotive Technology will be served by IntelliTec’s new Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) Automotive Technician Degree program. The Automotive Technician AOS Degree program is designed to teach students the automotive theory and technology necessary to work with brakes, suspension systems, manual and automatic transmissions, climate control systems, emissions systems, and starting and charging systems. Students learn engine performance, as well as how to run and interpret diagnostic and troubleshooting routines. Students learn hands-on skills through on-campus labs under the supervision of experienced and dedicated faculty, while receiving digital instruction through the innovative, user-friendly Electude e-learning system. The AOS Degree program is a total of 94.5 credit hours, and is achievable in as few as 19.5 months. Graduates of the program receive their Automotive Technician Associate of Occupational Studies Degree, and are prepared to test for national certifications including entry level ASE certifications, the EPA Section 609 Refrigerant Recovery & Recycling certification, and the Pro Cut Train Smart Level 1 certification.

Students interested in a clinical healthcare career will be served by IntelliTec’s new Healthcare Administration: Medical Assistant AOS Degree program. IntelliTec’s Medical Assistant program teaches students anatomy and physiology of the human body, as well as how to perform medical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing patients for medical procedures. IntelliTec students also learn to perform administrative duties such as appointment scheduling, insurance, and medical practice management. The AOS Degree program is 90.5 credit hours and is achievable in as few as 18 months. Graduates of the program receive their Healthcare Administration: Medical Associate of Occupational Studies Degree, and are prepared to test for national certifications including the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) through American Medical Technologists (AMT) and CPR.
