State below in reasonable detail why Forms 10-K, 20-F, 11-K, 10Q, 10-D, N-SAR, N-CSR, or the transition report or portion thereof, could not be filed within the prescribed time period.
The FirstBank 401(k) Retirement Plan (the Plan) for Residents of the U.S. Virgin Islands and of the United States of America (the Registrant) is unable to timely file its Form 11-K for the period ended December 31, 2017 (the 2017 11-K) without unreasonable effort or expense because the Registrant and its auditors are in the final stages of the audit work necessary for inclusion of the audited financial statements in the 2017 11-K as a result of the engagement of the auditor to audit the Plans financial statements in May 2018. The Registrant fully intends to file the 11-K within the timeframe mandated by Rule 12b-25.
