TEVA COMMENCES SHIPMENTS OF CARBOPLATIN
Jerusalem, Israel, June 24, 2004 - Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA) announced today that pursuant to its April 27, 2004 supply and distribution agreement with Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, its subsidiary Sicor Inc. has begun commercially shipping carboplatin injection (50 mg, 150 mg, 450 mg) and carboplatin aqueous solution injection (50 mg/5 ml, 150 mg/15 ml, and 450 mg/45 ml).
Sicor`s carboplatin injection and carboplatin aqueous solution injection are generic-labeled versions of Bristol-Myers Squibb`s cancer treatment Paraplatin®, which had U.S. sales of $769 million in 2003.
