        On October 2, 2002, The Seibels Bruce Group, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the previously announced letter of intent to transfer its flood insurance servicing rights to Selective Insurance Company of America has been mutually terminated due to lack of regulatory approval.  A copy of the Company’s press release is attached to this Current Report on Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.
