The Remake of Noah's Ark by Director Tim Chey - 'The Flood' - Starts Shooting in January

Chey is shooting the remake of Noah's Ark called ‘The Flood' in January 2026. The epic film will be released in 2,500 theaters on October 2, 2026.

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESS Newswire / December 1, 2025 / The world is coming to an end.

"As in the days of Noah," says Director Tim Chey, "so shall it be when the Lord Jesus returns."

Chey is shooting the remake of Noah's Ark called ‘The Flood'. The epic, large-budget film will be released in 2,500 theaters on October 2, 2026 and promises to stun the movie-goer.

"I wanted to make a Biblically-correct version of the Noah's Ark story," says director Tim Chey, "This film will focus on the three days before total devastation from the worldwide flood. It will be the scariest Christian movie ever made I humbly believe."

Kevin Sorbo is attached to play the lead Noah. It will be Sorbo's third film with the director.

When the first ‘Noah' movie was released in 2014, the faith-based community reacted strongly against the film's storyline, which many said was not accurate at all. While the film did over $100 million at the box office, many box office pundits believe the film could have done far better if the story had been Biblically-correct to embrace the true faith-based church-goers.

"We're living in the last days before the Lord's return," says Chey. "You just have to go on any freeway to see this," he adds jokingly.

The story of Noah in the Bible speaks of a time of great violence and Godless behavior on the earth. The Lord destroyed the entire earth through the flood, but spared Noah and his family due to Noah's righteousness.

Plans are already underway to build the Ark in California and hiring several top VFX companies in Hollywood to re-create the flood.

Chey's recently completed film, ‘Christmas Eve' opens in theaters in December 2026.

‘Christmas Eve' is based on seven true stories of people who found Jesus on Christmas Eve around the world. The film has garnered critical acclaim in the several cities where the film has has had a premiere.

Chey runs the third largest faith-based movie company in the U.S and has produced/directed over 17 feature films.

Chey also produced the faith-based movie ‘Freedom' (Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler, Sharon Leal) that was shot on the Amistad for Showtime and also produced and directed Sony Pictures faith-based ‘Slamma Jamma' (Michael Irvin, Chris Staples).

Chey is a Harvard and USC alumnus. He is also a pro-bono trial attorney helping churches and faith-based organizations.
