Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition.
On April 15, 2008 Healthcare Services Group, Inc. issued a press release (the Press Release)
announcing its earnings for the three month period ended March 31, 2008. A copy of the Press
Release is being furnished hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is hereby incorporated by reference to this
Current Report.

Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment
of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On or about June 1, 2008, Mr. Thomas Cooks duties as Chief Operating Officer will be assumed by
certain Senior and Divisional Vice Presidents. At that time, he will cease to be Chief Operating
Officer, although he will remain President and a member of the Board of Directors. Also, at this
time, Mr. Cooks compensation plan will be modified to reflect his responsibilities to the Company.
