EverQuote Earnings: What To Look For From EVER

Online insurance comparison site EverQuote (NASDAQ: EVER) will be reporting earnings this Monday after market hours. Here’s what to look for.

EverQuote met analysts’ revenue expectations last quarter, reporting revenues of $156.6 million, up 33.7% year on year. It was a strong quarter for the company, with EBITDA guidance for next quarter exceeding analysts’ expectations and an impressive beat of analysts’ EBITDA estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting EverQuote’s revenue to grow 15.3% year on year to $166.7 million, slowing from the 163% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $0.55 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. EverQuote has only missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates once over the last two years, exceeding top-line expectations by 7.8% on average.

Looking at EverQuote’s peers in the online marketplace segment, some have already reported their Q3 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Etsy delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 2.4%, beating analysts’ expectations by 3.3%, and Teladoc reported a revenue decline of 2.2%, in line with consensus estimates. Etsy traded down 17.2% following the results while Teladoc was up 6.3%.
