Seattle City Council, mayor trade barbs over proposed police cuts

"Continued cuts to SPD and underfunding the 911 center are not a plan for true public safety," the mayor said. Councilmember Mosqueda countered that "the full (police) hiring plan, as proposed by the mayor, is in this budget."
