On May 8, 2009, Community Bankers Trust Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release
reporting the declaration of a quarterly dividend of $0.04 per share with respect to the Company’s
outstanding common stock, payable on May 29, 2009 to shareholders of record as of May 18, 2009.
The press release also reported the announcement of certain new officers with the Company and the
date of its 2009 annual meeting of stockholders, which will be held on June 18, 2009.
The press release is being filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this report and is incorporated by
reference into this Item 8.01.
