80,000 People Gather in Cheongju as Shincheonji Church Leader Delivers Sermon on Biblical Revelation

Chairman Lee Man-hee visits during his nationwide tour and emphasizes the importance of Revelation

ATLANTA, GA, September 12, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On September 8th, Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, was bustling. 80,000 people, one-tenth of the population of Cheongju City (850,000), gathered in one place to worship. The place where the crowd gathered was the Matthias Tribe Cheongju Church of the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony. Upon hearing the news that Chairman Lee Man-hee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus would visit, not only the Matthias Tribe members in charge of the Chungcheong region, but also the John Tribe members in charge of Seoul and southern Gyeonggi Province, and key missionaries from churches across the country gathered to worship together.

This year, it was even more meaningful as it marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Cheongju Church. About 100 Protestant pastors also attended to hear Chairman Lee's sermon. From early that day, numerous believers lined up along the 4km distance from the Cheongju IC entrance to the Cheongju Church to welcome Chairman Lee. Chairman Lee said, "How thankful I am that God has revealed to us the words of the Book of Revelation that no one knew for 6,000 years," and "These words are life. He said, "We must have faith that is 100% in line with this word, which means becoming one with God."

He continued, "This is the biggest difference because we can reveal the truth (of the prophecy of the Book of Revelation)," and added, "However, we were in the same position as those who did not know in the past. So now we must humble ourselves before everyone and explain the truth and help them understand." Since the founding of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, this General Assembly Chairman has consistently emphasized the importance of the revealed word and the necessity of a Bible-centered faith.

This year alone, including this visit to the Cheongju Church, he has visited more than 40 domestic and international churches to focus on delivering the revealed word. As a result, a change is being observed in which domestic and international believers who have not been able to quench their thirst for the word are turning to Shincheonji Church of Jesus. Mr. Lee, who has been a member of the Presbyterian Church for 30 years, said, "I was shocked by the lecture of General Assembly Chairman Lee, who clearly explained the entire Book of Revelation at the Word Conference." According to a survey conducted by the Pastoral Data Research Institute last September targeting 1,000 Protestants aged 19 or older, 65% of those attending domestic Protestant churches responded that they "feel a spiritual thirst."

In addition, more than half of the total number of respondents, 55%, responded that they "want to receive systematic Bible education from pastors." This is the current state of Bible education in the Protestant community in Korea. The de-religionization of young people in their 20s and 30s is intensifying, and this is the biggest concern of the Protestant community. On the other hand, Shincheonji Church of Jesus is not only increasing the number of young people in their 20s and 30s, but also the number of believers who complete the regular course of about 8 months exceeds 100,000 every year.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus official explained, "The core of the revelations delivered by this General Chairman is that the prophecy of the Book of Revelation is actually fulfilled and has substance," and "In this regard, Shincheonji Church of Jesus has a systematic curriculum along with evidence, and is thus being promoted for education, which is why many people, regardless of gender, age, religion or non-religion, recognize it."
