Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.

Effective February 8, 2006, the Board of Directors of Kirkland's, Inc. terminated the employment of Jack E. Lewis as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.

Effective February 8, 2006, Robert Alderson has been elected to serve as Chief Executive Officer and President of the Company on an interim basis. The Board of Directors is launching an immediate search for a Chief Executive Officer.
