The story is about helping parents teach life lessons to their kids in a fun way.
The new children’s book, ‘The Misadventures Of Bartholomew Crow,' is helping parents and kids come closer with a unique storyline about a curious crow protagonist. The book is the brainchild of Ken, who was married for 20 years and raised two lovely daughters throughout their childhood and teenage years. When his daughters began to make their way through life, Ken began to wander and work in all states of Australia, exploring different jobs. He also drove cattle from the breeding areas of North Queensland to the Channel Country of the SW. It was on these cattle drives that the story of Bartholomew Crow was born. Watching the efforts of the crow to emulate the movement of the hawks was an interesting and funny for him.
He used this as inspiration to write a fascinating tale for children aged 5-12, to help them read while having fun. This amusing tale outlines some of the harrowing experiences of the crow, who was always hungry and a little bit lazy, trying to find an easy way to get food. As he watched some hawks flying out from a nearby tree and making easy pickings by catching grasshoppers in mid-air, he just knew that Bart could do that too. If he could fly like that, all his breakfast problems would be solved. Children in the book learn just how much trouble young Bart got himself into while looking for that snack.
The book has great illustrations that capture the hearts and attention of children everywhere, bringing them a lot of smiles. Talking to the media about the book, the author, Ken, said, "As a father of two repetition girls, I loved raising them. Now that they are all grown up, I wanted to write a story that would resonate with children and help parents get connected with their kids. I hope this will help more children get curious and eager to learn about the world."
The book is getting a lot of great reviews from early readers, who compliment it for its simple and engaging theme. The book is available in paperback, hardcover and Kindle.
