Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On November 6, 2012, Kevin Loughrey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. (the “Company”), notified the Board of Directors of the Company of his desire to retire within the next 18 months, subject to a suitable successor being identified by the Board. Mr. Loughrey expressed willingness to continue in his current role until a replacement is named and to remain with the Company in any capacity necessary following his retirement to ensure a stable transition.
A copy of the press release issued by the Company on November 9, 2012 announcing Mr. Loughrey’s intent to retire is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
