Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

On February 7, 2007, Dana Coffield, the Chief Executive Officer of Gran Tierra Energy Inc. (the “Company”) will deliver a presentation at the Independent Petroleum Association of America’s Small Cap Oil & Gas Investment Symposium. The presentation slides are attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and will be available on the Company's website at http://www.grantierra.com on February 7, 2007. In his presentation, Mr. Coffield plans to update the investment community on the Company’s projects in the Noroeste Basin, Argentina, the Putumayo, Magdalena and Llanos Basins in Colombia, and the Company’s exploration licenses in Peru.
