This CME Symposium takes place during the 2024 American Association of Heart Failure Nurses (AAHFN) Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM ET at the Rosen Shingle Creek Orlando in Orlando, Florida.

HAZLET, N.J. - May 13, 2024 - PRLog -- In this program, faculty members will explain to attendees the deleterious consequences of ID, the importance of early and regular screening for ID in HF patients, and current evidence and guideline recommendations. A case study will illustrate best "real-world" practices using an expert-generated algorithm published in a scientific statement on ID in HF from the Heart Failure Society of America.
The educational objectives include:
■ Recognize that iron deficiency in heart failure patients occurs with and without anemia
■ Describe the prognosis for heart failure patients with iron deficiency
■ Explain the clinical evidence for intravenous iron supplementation in patients with heart failure
■ Discuss guideline recommendations for screening for, and treating iron deficiency, and the algorithm for overall management of iron deficiency in heart failure patients
