Item 5.02.    Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers
 
Jack P. Taylor, a Director of Casey's General Stores, Inc. (the "Company"), died on October 6, 2006 from the effects of brain cancer. "Jack was a very valuable member of our Board," said Ronald M. Lamb, Chairman of the Board, "and he will be missed by everyone who knew him." Mr. Taylor was first elected to the Board of Directors of the Company in 1993, and served during the past 13 years on the Board's Audit, Compensation and Nominating Committees.
