On February 21, 2005, Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. (the “Partnership”) announced by press release that its wholly-owned subsidiary, MC Mining, LLC, resumed production operations at its Excel No. 3 mine located in Pike County, Kentucky. A copy of the Partnership’s press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
