On August 24, 2011, Harbinger Group Inc.’s majority-owned operating subsidiary, Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc., issued a press release announcing a $40 million voluntary prepayment on its senior secured term loan that reduced the balance outstanding to $577 million.
