BOARD CHANGE

Barclays PLC and Barclays Bank PLC announce that Leigh Clifford, non-executive Director, will retire from the Boards of Barclays with effect from 30 September 2010.
Marcus Agius, Barclays Chairman, said today, "I would like to thank Leigh for his valuable contribution to Barclays since joining the Board in October 2004. His wisdom and steadfastness were particularly valued during the recent financial crisis. We will miss his experience, advice and support and wish him well for the future."
