     On December 10, 2008, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (the “Company”) announced the closing of and related anticipated use of proceeds from the previously-announced sale of its 50-percent interest in the Peregrino heavy-oil field offshore Brazil to StatoilHydro.
     The Company’s press release dated December 10, 2008, announcing the closing and the anticipated use of proceeds therefrom, is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
