Item 8.01  Other Events
The Timken Company recently received approximately $11.5 million under the U.S. Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act (CDSOA) for 2007. Timken expects to use the entire amount for general corporate purposes and to reduce debt.
CDSOA provides the authority for U.S. Customs to distribute antidumping duties to U.S. producers harmed by unfair trade that have continued to invest in their technology, equipment and people. A leading provider of friction management and power transmission solutions, Timken received a distribution under CDSOA based on the company’s consistent investments to remain competitive in the face of continued dumping of bearings.
This information shall not be deemed to be “filed” for the purposes of Section 18 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (the “Exchange Act”) or otherwise subject to the liabilities of that section, nor shall it be incorporated by reference into a filing under the Securities Act of 1933, or the Exchange Act, except as shall be expressly set forth by specific reference in such a filing.
