Mangrove Forests are critical ecosystems, both for biodiversity and for humanity. They are considered among the planet's most important ecosystems that can help mitigate the impacts of climate change because of their capacity to store large amounts of organic carbon.

Globally over two hundred million people rely directly on mangroves to maintain the well-being of their coastal communities in 118 countries. As we begin to realize their full global value-as storehouses for carbon, fish breeding zones, coastal protection and more-ever-greater efforts need to be made to protect the remaining forests, and to fast-track programs of restoration throughout the world.

Collaboration between mangrove restoration programs and web3 initiatives provides another vital key to protect, heal, and restore mangrove forests.
