MITRE Promotes Dr. Jay Schnitzer and Wilson Wang to Senior Vice President

Senior Leaders Serve as Catalysts for Innovation and Transformation

MITRE promoted two long-time corporate executives: Dr. Jay Schnitzer now serves as senior vice president, chief medical and technology officer, and Wilson Wang now serves as senior vice president, chief financial officer.

“I’m pleased to have Jay and Wilson join our executive leadership team, and both are critical to delivering on our mission of solving problems for a safer world,” said Jason Providakes, MITRE, president and CEO. “Jay manages more than 200 independent R&D programs annually allowing our talent to discover, create and lead new innovation for our sponsors and partners. Wilson’s leadership helps ensure our fiscal health and allows our teams to deliver impact with speed, risk-taking and agility.”

Schnitzer has been instrumental as MITRE’s chief technology officer and chief medical officer – driving national impact as he directs and manages MITRE’s $70 million independent research and development program, develops our corporate technology strategy, and leads critical national initiatives in health and life sciences. Over the last 18 months, his leadership and expertise co-leading the COVID-19 Healthcare Coalition with Mayo Clinic have been unparalleled. He has successfully leveraged talent across our organization to mobilize knowledge and resources of industry and academia to drive national and global solutions in our fight against COVID-19. He joined MITRE in 2013.

Since joining MITRE, Wang has ensured that MITRE’s financial health remains strong, positioning the company to deliver value and impact to our sponsors and partners. Through his leadership, vision, and expertise, he’s created new enterprise capabilities for financial analytics, while ensuring continued fiduciary rigor in enterprise accounting, internal audit, contracts and pricing, and financial planning and analysis. As vice president and CFO since 2018, Wang has been instrumental in MITRE’s investment and capital allocation strategies, delivering increasingly efficient and consistent operating models that maximize MITRE’s impact while delivering strong financial stewardship in the public interest and driving greater agility and speed in our mission of solving problems for a safer world.
