Widely Recognized California Tax Expert, Gina Rodriquez, Joins Ryan as Principal in Advocacy Services Practice

Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, announced that Gina M. Rodriquez has recently joined the Firm as Principal in the Advocacy Services practice and will be based in California.

Ryan’s Advocacy team provides strategic advantages in resolving tax disputes expeditiously by using a holistic approach to assist clients with complex tax issues and promoting fair and efficient public policy initiatives. Ryan’s exclusive focus on tax services allows its team to effectively advocate for its clients, working across all levels of government driving efficient processes, policies, and legislation without cumbersome regulatory restrictions.

This appointment is further evidence of Ryan’s strategic national and global growth strategy into key markets and lines of business.

Prior to joining Ryan, Gina worked as a state and local tax director for a Big Four public accounting firm. She previously served as vice president of state tax policy for the California Taxpayers Association, directing the organization’s legislative, regulatory, and judicial efforts, including addressing policy implications of a “split property tax roll” in California and California’s insolvent unemployment insurance fund. Gina has served on various advisory boards for state tax agencies and has worked on local property tax issues with some of California’s 58 county assessors. She also served the public, achieving the rank of Tax Administrator at a young age for the Franchise Tax Board. Gina spent many years as the Sacramento editor at Spidell Publishing, Inc., addressing all issues related to California tax policy.

Gina is a recognized author and speaker on tax issues specific to California. Some of her work has been published in the Journal of State Taxation, California Enrolled Agent, and State Tax Notes, among others. She holds a Master of Science degree in taxation from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from California State University, Sacramento.
