Chicago, IL {November 15, 2023} — This year’s Vision Expo West, an annual trade-only conference and exhibition for ophthalmic professionals, highlighted Big City Optical Co-founder and President Dr. Rasa Tamulavichus’ selection as a 2023 Vision Monday’s Most Influential Women in Optical.
This past August, Vision Monday — the optical industry’s leading business news platform, part of the Jobson Optical Group and a division of WebMD — named Dr. Tamulavichus a 2023 Vision Monday Most Influential Women in Optical for the Executive Suite category. Other categories include Rising Star, Mentors, Innovator, and Above and Beyond.
Vision Monday's Most Influential Women Yearly Award has been nominating and showcasing the achievements of women in the optical industry for over 20 years. The award honors high achievers, difference makers, and trendsetters who stand out by contributing their many talents to the optical business and vision care field. Every July, Vision Monday shares their stories of success, and this prestigious nomination is a clear acknowledgement of Dr. Rasa's outstanding expertise, vision, and unwavering commitment to the Optical Industry.
Vision Expo West honored Dr. Tamulavichus and the others on the list with a luncheon on September 29th during Vision Expo West in Las Vegas.
Dr. Tamulavichus earned her O.D. from the Illinois College of Optometry and has treated patients in Chicago for over 20 years, during which time her accomplishments and influence have inspired countless individuals in the field, particularly through her Mentorship Program. She has also risen to represent some of the most important organizations in her industry, serving as the VSP Ambassador for the State of Illinois, acting as the Speaker for Visionix Technology and Tele Optometry, and even starting a Tele Optometry Platform to increase accessibility to patient care.
All of this is in addition to her impressive vision care. In her 20 years providing optometric patient care, Dr. Tamulavichus has come to be the owner of Easy Eye Care, and Co-Founder and President of Big City Optical.
