The Gifts That Matter program clearly reveals the power each person possesses to grant miracles. By giving a goat or seedlings, contributors empower vulnerable families to create brighter futures. Gifts That Matter not only brings the recipients’ communities together, but they also impact the givers’ lives. These gift ideas come from the heart, and a donation to this program represents the essence of the holidays in any culture.
Donating 10 chicks to a family in Mozambique offers a multicultural way for employees to collectively demonstrate their seasonal spirit. All gift are currently being matched by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), which contributes $3 for every $1 donated. By quadrupling the funds, a $10 donation from 10 people can send a Crateful of Critters gift set that includes three goats, three piglets and five chickens, plus 10 fuel-efficient stoves, to families in Kenya.
Teachers, who receive dozens of personalized mugs, chenille blankets and coffee gift cards, will be thankful for a donation in their name to the Global Education program. Each $40 pledge provides Canadian teachers with lesson plans, videos and workshops on global poverty to share with their students.
