Colorado Trails Dude Ranch Prepares for Busy Summer Season

By: PRLog
PR Log - Mar 09, 2012 - At Colorado Trails Dude Ranch (www.ColoradoTrails.com), a guest ranch just outside Durango, CO, there's no rest for the weary even during the so-called “off-season.” This is one dude ranch in Colorado that's using the slower winter months to beef up its offerings when guests start arriving for vacation season.

Visible and Invisible Changes Taking Place at Colorado Trails

Some of the changes happening at the Colorado dude ranch are easy for everyone to see, while other changes are equally important but invisible to the guests who come for their all-inclusive family vacations.

The visible changes include new decks for visitors to relax on outside the Office, Trading Post, Ruckus Room, Opera House and Blacksmith Shop. The new decks will give guests yet one more place to sit and enjoy the great outdoors and the vistas of the San Juan Mountains.

Another visible change is the walkway that's being built from the ranch's Trading Post to its Opera House. The new walkway will make transit between the two buildings easier and safer for guests.

The invisible changes, however, might be even more important to guests than the visible ones. Colorado Trails has invested a good deal of time and money replacing and expanding the water and sewer lines around the ranch. Meanwhile, the power company is on its way to upgrade the dude ranch's power lines.

New Guest Cabins

All this invisible work is preparing Colorado Trails for the biggest new change of all: Additional guest cabins. By fall of 2012, the dude ranch hopes to build new vacation cabins to accommodate more visitors. New cabins mean more room for families traveling to Colorado Trails for family reunions, weddings and vacations. It also means more room for corporate retreats, Colorado Trails' famous Horseman's Week, and more room for the Code 3 Associates Equine Investigator's Academy.

Staff hopes that the new guest cabins will make Colorado Trails Dude Ranch more welcoming and comfortable than ever before.

Hiring Additional Staff

Another invisible change taking place at Colorado Trails is the hiring of additional staff for the busy spring and summer season. While the “full-timers” never really take a break at the busy dude ranch all year long, Colorado Trails also boosts the local economy by hiring many seasonal workers who stay at the guest ranch just for the summer vacation months.
