Despite Euro Gloom Germans Love Their Leader

More than half of Germans are pessimistic about the economy yet support for Chancellor Angela Merkel remains staunch, partly because of her strong stance on the euro zone debt crisis, according to two opinion polls published in Germany on Wednesday.
